Gary Peters (D) is Michigan’s senior U.S. senator. First elected to the Senate in 2014 and re-elected in 2020, he previously represented metro-Detroit districts in the U.S. House. He has announced he will not run again in 2026, making this one of the open Senate seats on next November’s ballot.
